Hampshire Homechoice

The five partner councils and Registered Providers have agreed that Hampshire Home Choice will:

• Provide a single point of access for applicants across all five areas.
• Increase choice for people seeking social housing.
• Support social and economic mobility, including access to employment.
• Reduce costs through shared working and economies of scale.
• Help reduce voids and rent loss, especially for harder‑to‑let homes.
• Support councils in meeting their homelessness duties where possible.
• Be flexible enough to respond to local needs and priorities.
• Provide consistency and transparency for applicants, councils and Registered Providers.
• Encourage joint working between partner authorities.
• Maintain a fair balance of cross‑boundary moves, ensuring local residents are not disadvantaged.
• Consider expanding the partnership where appropriate and agreed by all councils.
