Who Qualifies for the Housing Register?

To qualify, you must have both:

  • A housing need, and
  • A local connection to one of the participating councils.

You will normally qualify if you:

  • Are in housing need, and
  • Have a single or joint income below £60,000 (or £55,000 for Eastleigh applicants), and
  • Have assets/savings below £16,000, and
  • Have a local connection through:
    • Living in the area for 1+ years, or
    • Close family who have lived in the area for 5+ years, or
    • Employment in the area for 1+ years.
